Monte San Savino is a town and comune in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany (Italy). It is located on the Essa stream in the Valdichiana. Several of its frazioni occupy higher hills, like Gargonza and its castle at 560 metres (1,840 ft) and Palazzuolo at an elevation of 600 metres (2,000 ft).

After 8 years of building wonderful vacation memories at Manlio's restaurant La Terrasse, we celebrated our wedding this year in Monte San Savino.
Manlio did not only provide us with the perfect wines and prosecco for our wedding party, but also hosted a perfect summer evening dinner at La Terrasse for our entire family. Manlio and Natalia understood all our wishes perfectly and translated them into the perfect evening.
We will never forget this!!

We had two pastas that were outstanding: gnocchi with truffle cream sauce and spaghetti with porcini mushrooms. They were fresh and perfectly made. We were less into the pizza, which was bland, and the salad. Our server recommended a terrific white wine to us at an excellent price. Overall, this was a delicious meal and a great value.

We have been staying locally for two weeks and have visited this Restaurant as a couple, and with friends, on four or five occasions. This Family owned Restaurant gets very busy, and deservedly so. They make by hand the most wonderful Pizza's that are fantastic. You can stand and watch your Pizza being made if you wish. The Staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food overall is very good indeed. They have a Terrace outside at the front of the Restaurant that overlooks the Town Square and Memorial and is a lovely place to sit and eat on a warm evening. Inside, the Restaurant has a great atmosphere and the Tables are well spaced, nicely laid, and a lovely atmosphere if it is a little chilly outside. There is a good choice of well cooked food and many traditional Dishes are served. Complimented by a wonderful Wine List with some particularly pleasant Red Wines served at the correct temperatures - not something we are good at in the UK!
For Family, for friends, just for two - we highly recommend this Restaurant. Try it, sit back, relax, soak up the ambience and eat some great food - everything from Pizza to florentine Steak and lots in between. It's great!

Little, rustic and beautiful in the Tuscany country. The restaurant room is just for 12 table and Reservations is racomended... we have 2 Gardens, one in the front and another more romantic and privee that are open in the good season for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Characteristic place, typical tuscan food barbecue and home made pasta. Fiorentina and tagliata, mushrooms and truffles.
Restaurant strategically located to move comfortably between Valdichiana and Chianti. Welcoming locals, all in stone and brick and wooden beams, classic rustic Tuscan-style (this is an old stable). Known in the area for grilled meats, mushrooms and truffles. The beautiful owner Barbara, textbook example of Italian "Locandiera", speaks English well and above all is very competent both in cuisine and in wine and very attentive to tradition and quality. This is to say that it is also popular for Tuscans and it's not a tourist trap !!! Generous portions of everything, so I skip the appetizers and usually take starters with truffle and the mixed meat grill, if in the right season with Porcini mushrooms. For wines, despite being an expert, I gladly leave advise by Barbara as she surely knows the best pairings with her recipes. Prices not lower but right for the location, the style of the room and especially for the overall quality.

Andato apposta per mangiare un'ottima "Fiorentina" non sono rimasto deluso. Bisteccona (5 dita!) di Chianina di qualità eccezionale cotta alla perfezione. Forse la miglior carne che abbia mai mangiato in vita mia. 60 Euro al chilo non sono pochi ma ne è valsa la pena.
Ottimi gli antipasti (in particolar modo i crostini toscani) e i cantucci fatti in casa.
Motivo per il quale non do il massimo dei voti è il vino sfuso della casa veramente troppo "giovane" e dolce per essere servito con una carne di qualità così alta.
Ci tornerei sicuramente ma scegliendo un vino "alla carta".

We had a big family visit - 9 of us including a baby and a toddler. The staff were extremely helpful getting us all seated. The food was very good and we would especially recommend the steak and the strips of beef.

This place is really a refreshing gem in a city with such traditional restaurants! The decor was very modern but with a 60/70s flair to it, with mismatched tables and concrete walls. It was a great setting to be eating in. We had a delicious Chianti wine, and for food, everyone at the table was super happy with what they got. I had such a innovative take on the traditional Caesar salad inside a "Parmesan taco" to start, then a delicious filled pasta as a first and tasty beef as my main. Innovative take on traditional Italian cuisine that you could tell took lots of dedication to perfect!

On a recent September family trip to Tuscany, we had dinner here twice. Our party consisted of 6 adults and one 3 year old, and all of us were delighted with the food and service. With an extensive menu of classic and regionally accented Tuscan dishes, you could eat here many times and never be bored. Because of our youngest member, we dined early (6 p.m.) and mostly had the place to ourselves.The menu even featured wines from the Baldetti vineyard (also worth a visit). We also were charmed by our skilled waitress Fiore, mentioned in other reviews here. As has also been said, the view from the restaurant is spectacular. Note: Be sure you have a designated driver for your safe exit via the one-lane gravel road!

We ate dinner here twice while staying in an airbnb apartment nearby. The first time was a Sunday when the Podere was hosting several huge family events (like 100 people or so). Even so, we were received graciously with a complimentary glass of prosecco, and dined well on antipasti and pasta. The servings are very generous and we took our leftovers home. We returned the next night when things were quieter. The manager recognized us and made us feel so welcome. This time we knew better than to order two pastas and instead shared the huge fish and seafood antipasto and a very nice bottle of local rosato. When we expressed interest in local dessert wines, the manager insisted we taste a couple of them along with a bowl of cherries which we were not charged for. All in all, it is a fun atmosphere and we felt the staff were very kind especially since we can barely communicate in Italian!

Fabio and Lucilla offer a menu with typical Tuscan food and wine. The dishes are carefully prepared by Chef Fabio and are all made from organic products from the beautiful valley of Val di Chiana. Tuscan wines are strict and are composed of fine Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montepulciano. In the room you will find welcoming and familiar all wrapped in the romantic setting of the village of Monte San Savino. Close on monday.
The place was cuter than the name suggests, decked out in red-&-white plaid cloths and botanical prints. Of our bruschette, 2 of the 3 toppings were good (sautéed porcini and spicy tomato) but the other was unpleasant (too-fishy anchovy).
Our secondi were coniglio al cacciatore (tender, in a flavorful tomato sauce, but very a stingy portion) and tagliatelli with more sautéed porcini. OK but nothing to look for again, and the hostess seemed on edge the whole time--perhaps because we arrived at 7PM per the sign at their door but the kitchen didn't open until 7:30? Monte is a town with very few restaurants to choose from, but I doubt we'll eat at this one again.
