December 31, 2017 Terina Blouin

Step away from the hustle and bustle into the secluded luxury of three alpine villages in one at Beaver Creek. At the foot of Beaver Creek Mountain, the unique village-to-village ski system and ski-in/ski-out accommodations of Beaver Creek Village and neighboring Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead Villages make it almost unnecessary to remove your skis! The mountain offers groomed slopes and world class competitions, including the Birds of Prey World Cup, as well as an array of summer activities.

(pre kids) we went to Beaver Creek (90's). I remembered it for the amazing ski experience. Well they have done so much since then to expand the amazing experience. Springfest activities for kids. A beautiful comfortable setting of cushioned chairs and gas fire pits. A reasonably priced ice skating experience at $10 per child. A five star vibe with top notch galleries and restaurants. It was a very nice place to visit.

Free shuttle running between Beaver Creek and the Ritz Carlton. Max turnaround time is around 30 minutes, but usually shorter, for you and up to maybe a dozen others. We found it quite convenient to call a number, in either direction, to take advantage of both locations. Drivers were very friendly and accommodating.

We spent a full day on snowmobiles with Stan from RMAR. He is an amazing guide who took the time to gauge our ability, appetite for adventure and customized our day to perfection. The equipment is top notch and well maintained. RMAR is a smaller, more personalized team and I would recommend them without hesitation. If you are looking for something unique, book with RMAR!

I am still beaming after summiting my first 14er with Walking Mountains, Peter, and his fellow guides. Joined them on other hikes and will in the future. This welcoming group includes seasonal locals, vacationers and folks of all ages, whoever is available and interested on the allotted day. As I'm the big hiker in my family, this removes my concern about hiking alone and gives me access to gorgeous places. Well worth the time and your effort, wherever they take you around the Vail Valley environs.

Avon Recreation Center

The Avon Recreation Center contains a workout facility with over 40 pieces of cardiovascular and resistance machines. We have a 1600 square foot resistance training room and two group fitness studios. Our aquatics area includes: 5 lap lanes, dive well, leisure pool, lazy river, 140 long water slide, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. The lobby includes a nice lounge area and Bouldering Wall.

The Avon Recreation Center is impressive. Designed to be a Family facility, it achieved this goal. Hard to believe it was built in 1995. Well maintained, with practically new equipment. Attractively painted the color of Water ~ turquoise blue.

Skiiers & outdoors-types use this facility weekly. Non-Skiiers use it year round as well, since there are classes & activities for all ages & abilities. I noticed but a handful of people walking around who didn't look fit.

I like to do a variety of exercises & stretches + laps in the pool inbetween ski days. Hot tub is popular too.

This Facility Makes Fitness Fun!
