Andre Buisson Owner and Head of restaurant kitchen "Fairway" in Villard de Lans since October 2011 mixes traditional cuisine of the mountain and sophisticated cuisine and refined style offering the widest choice to its customers.
A perfect, charming, and perfectly charming restaurant in the heart of a delightful town. The new owners have polished this gem to perfection. The varied menu is certain to please all ages, palates, and appetites. (But be sure to save room for dessert!) Five-star food and impeccable service at a friendly price. The lovely decor and versatile setting can accommodate intimate dining and family gatherings, as well as large parties and seminars. Le Fairway is worth a journey--but we're thankful that it is only a few steps from the tourist office!

Mountain ambience Homemade coking and desserts Outside Terrace
We traveled through four European countries over a two-week period, and we fondly remember Le Grand Cerf as the culinary highlight of our trip. The quality and presentation of our entrées were quite impressive, as was the wine selection, attentive service and the warm, intimate ambience of the restaurant itself. We dined as a party of eight that included two children, and everyone in the group was thrilled by the experience. In particular, the foie gras was so memorable that I think of it often and wish I could order it again! We're already talking about returning to lovely Villard-de-Lans ... a trip that will surely include (at least one) meal at Le Grand Cerf.

My husband and I enjoyed big salads with local hams and cheeses on the Terrace behind this typical local restaurant in early September. Judging by the menus of other restaurants, this one is a good value for local specialties. The service was friendly and efficient, even though we arrived a bit late for lunch. I'd go here again for raclette etc.

Very nice place Villard de Lans, no doubt a ski-ing resort in winter time.
I was with a tour group and stopped in the town. there were loads of nice restaurants here, so I selected this one on Thursday 24 July 2014 for lunch.
I ordered a hamburger, when it came up, one could see that it was freshly made and not from a packet or box, it was lovely and tender inbetween a soft roll and French fries, always a favourite with me, it was a large portion. The French fries are served in a mini-metal chip fryer. It made the lunch very appertising, unfortunately I had to leave four chips, so full-up, and I could not eat a dessert, normally I cannot eat large lunches.
I sat outside, had a coca-cola and coffee the hamburger and chips was 12.54 Euros total bill 16.40 Euros plus service.
A member of staff came from from the United Kingdom she lived and worked in Villard de Lans, this made it easier to order.Good reasonable menu, perhaps I should of waited for the food to settle, I missed that dessert now.
If you are in Villard de Lans try le Ranch, you will not be disappointed.

Had a lunch, and decided to take a hamburger with french fries. Was one of the best hamburger meals I have had for long time! The menu has a lot of different alternatives (salads, meats, fondues & raclettes, hamburgers, etc.), the place is very nice with chalet type of decorations, and the reception & service friendly and fast. Will definitely come back!

Followed other reviewers advice and wasn't disappointed. Villard-de-Lans is small and touristic, not the kind of place one would expect to eat well. There are many creperies in town, many of which are overpriced and mediocre.
I visited the town with my mum today to check out the snow, and we decided to check out la Creperie de l'ours to get out of the cold. We came in at 12 as the restaurant opened, but it quickly filled up: a sign that it's a popular place. We both opted for the potage du jour as a starter. I then ordered la galette du chef (goats cheese, apple puree, honey and salad), whilst my mum went for la Norvégienne (smoked salmon, soft cheese and leek). The potage was a velvety thick pumpkin puree topped with very tasty cheese and cherry tomatoes. It was extremely delicious and moreish. I can honestly say that the galette was the best I have ever had, and believe me, I have eaten many galettes. It was thin, crispy, and the filling was very imaginative and the mixture of sweet and salty was heavenly. We ate this accompanied by some good house red wine.
I had to have a pudding, being in the best creperie I have EVER tried, so eventually chose the classic crepe au beurre salé. At 4.80 euros it came with very good quality vanilla bean ice cream. In Grenoble I paid 6.50 for a salted caramel crepe which didn't come with ice cream. It was pretty tasty, and one doesn't expect to find lower prices (during high season) in a touristic alpine town than in the city.
The restaurant was very cosy, with a wooden rustic theme going on. The staff were very attentive, friendly and informative. We also didn't feel rushed and read our books for about an hour after having already eaten, before leaving.
If I ever come back I won't eat anywhere else. This place is just way too good. Recommended.

A really lovely authentic British/Sardinian restaurant! A mix of cuisines and something for everyone. The specials are always enticing but it is difficult to look past the fish and chips! Done so well with beautiful fresh fish, I order it every time! The owner/server in the restaurant is very enthusiastic about their food, very informative and very kind. We will always go back! Highly recommend it!
