Humpolec (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦumpolɛts]; German: Humpoletz) is a town in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It is situated south-east of the Czech capital Prague, roughly halfway between Prague and Brno, on the northwestern edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Českomoravská vrchovina).

Ask to meet the owner, he's a great guy. If you're looking for a place that has a cool, modern atmosphere with a good selection of drink and a well delivered broad selection of food...go here! This is a place where the young and middle aged go to relax, socialise, end, drink and celebrate. I've also celebrated new years here and their functions are very good.

Stopped off in Humpolec on the road to Prague (D1), we found this restaurant tagged onto a hotel of the same name, walking in to the back of the place before finding some stairs and ascending. Waiting for us at the end of the corridor was a nice classic Czech restaurant with standard offerings for food and of course on the beer menu the locally-brewed delicious Bernard beer, including alcohol-free types from the drivers among us. We were in and out in 45 minutes and ready to complete the last leg of our journey! The portions at Cerny kun were very generous so you may wish to share plates!

The hotel restaurant introduces local-sourced, seasonal cuisine at it's best. We are talking Michelin star candidate here, I think. We stayed three nights, had dinners, breakfast and occasional in-between meals and did not encounter a bad experience.

Our Newmarket coach stopped here on way to Prague for lunch. Very reasonable prices Toilet is .20€ and salads about £1.2 with different sizes available. Good selection of hot entrees, soups, desserts. Gets a little crowded with large coaches all stopping together, but service is very fast and efficient. Very cute goats just outside the restaurant that are friendly.

Europe has been experiencing an unusual heat wave this year. (No, I don’t believe it is a man-made phenomenon – just part of a cycle). Very few places have air-conditioning. This restaurant does. Plus, it is modern and pleasant. They go to great lengths to be “cool” (not just in the temperature sense) – the waiters’ uniforms match the colour of tablecloths!!! Food is excellent, innovative, inexpensive. The town Humpolec is about half way between the two major Czech cities Brno and Prague, just off the highway.

It´s a normal restaurant. But normal in a good way. Everything went smooth, meals were tasty and they were prepared very quick, a service was pleasant. It´s something what you expect from an every restaurant and you´ll find it here. But there wasn’t something special, something you´ll be willing to travel miles.
The menu contains all kind of meats, but they have vegetarian meals also.

A la découverte de ce restaurant... ma première visite fut bonne. On parlait anglais et nous avons bien mangé: menu en anglais et allemand. C'est varié. C'est bon.
Deuxième et troisième visite; on parlait allemand mais les repas furent encore bons. c'est un bon restaurant. Il y a une salle non fumeur (en Tchéquie il est toujours autorisé de fumer dans les restaurants).

Visted July 2017 for a lunch. They offered finished meals including venison meat (deer and boar. We tried that and were very satisfied. The restaurant was absolutely full during the lunch time what means that people knows this place very well. The staff very friendly and fast. As sooon as we sat, they were here and offered us drinks and meals, finished meal were brought in 2-3 minutes. Very good.

We were travelling on bicycle and needed to find a beergarden to have a lunch. This restaurant was found without any planning. The restaurant has 3 tables in the garden and more in the interior. As I entered the restaurant, there was no visible menu, the staff said that there are just two pieces. We received them after somebody else finished his order. Then we found czech meals for good prices and choose. Despite of ordering finished meals we had to wait for more than 30 minutes. Staff kind but very, very slowly. Later she brought us the meals that looked good but tasted strange. Strong, aggresive taste of glutamanes. Better avoid this restaurant.
