Bhadrachalam, famously known as Ayodhya of South India, is home to the famous temple of Shri Ram on Bhadragiri. On the banks of river Godavari, this temple town is carved into the newly formed state of Telangana, due to its temple constructor Kancherla Gopanna also known as the famous Literary poet Bhakta Ramdass. He was under the then Nizams and it is known that the Lord himself appeared to the Nizams in a dream. The temple town has a number of places to stay. Early darshan is recommended. River bathing is performed here by devotees and a ghat is constructed for that purpose. For visiting this temple, river crossing can be made by viaduct on Godavari, a sight to see. Kothagudem thermal station is visible at a distant across the river. Near by places include river cruising at Papikondalu, Kinnerasani Project, etc

Kinnerasani Dam is approx 14km from Palvoncha and the road passes by Kothagudem Thermal Power station. This is an arid area and not much greenery but there are lots of trees. There is a minimal entrance fee to the project. Spare around 4 to 5 hours in this place. If you planning a lunch/picnic, a little extra time is needed. The Sunsets are beautiful. You can walk to the other end of the project, watch the water gates, go to a small park at the base, view water falls if the gates are open, right at the base. There is a deer pen where you can spend some time offering grass to the beasts. If you happen to be to Khammam, have spare time after visiting Bhadrachalam temple, then this is a visit worth while. I will try attaching few pics for reference. Also, no food is available at this place. Drinks and lite snacks are available but again its better to carry them.

This city is flush with greenery and i could see flowers, cotton being grown. There are mangrove Gardens across the location which is now part of the new state of Telangana. Once considered as the naxal area, it has grown in stature to being commercial crop producing place. The farmers of this area are rich and now lot of constructions are going on.
