A friend was visiting from Seattle and swimming with the Mantas was a bucket list item for him. I had already heard from many others that the experience with Anelakai Adventures was truly unique. So 3 adults and 3 kids decided to give it a try. It was amazing!! To begin with the experience of paddling your own vessel was incredible! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the small personalized group sizes. I was surprised that both of my daughters got into the water. One liked it so much that she keeps asking when we can do it again. It also inspired her to join a local canoe club. Thank you so much for the remarkable and memorable experience.

Heavenly Hawaiian Coffee is perfectly perched in the hills south of Kona so that growing conditions are ideal and views are spectacular. Chase was very knowledgeable and personable and provided an informative and fun tour. We then had the opportunity to relax on the Lanai and enjoy a cup (or two) of their amazing brew while snacking on coffee brittle and taking in the glorious view of the Pacific. And of course we visited the gift shop and stocked up on treats, don't miss out on a bag or two of that delicious brittle!

Kahaluu Beach

Popular Hawaii beach for snorkeling.

Reviewed By mbotos - Mount Laurel, New Jersey

Some of the best snorkeling on Hawaii. This is a great family beach with a little something for everyone — snorkeling, surfing, reasonable beach area, life guards, showers, bathrooms, and even a food truck.

Water entry can be tricky, as any of the rocks under the water at the shore tend to be slippery. This is one of those places were you are better off to ‘belly-in’ as soon as the water is a foot deep to avoid slipping on the rocks. Once thru the narrow inlet, there is plenty to explore.

There is a great variety of fish. Some of the areas are difficult to get to at low tide, so be sure you know whether the tide is coming in or out before swimming over the shallow areas. For the non-snorkelers there are rocks on the left side that you can carefully walk over to see a number of the tidal pools and even spot turtles in the shallow water.

There is a reasonable amount of off road parking, as well as additional marked parking spots. The beach is just south of little St. Peter’s church.

This is one of those "come visit us if you can find us" places. So great to visit a coffee plantation that is so down home and simply doesn't have the "commercial" feeling at all. It is located in a gorgeous, very quaint surrounding. The host in the store/visitor center was simply wonderful. She was so friendly, gracious, informative and courteous. She made you feel so welcome to be there and provided all kinds of samples for us to try, ranging from coffees to candy, to honey. At no time did we feel that there was any "pressure or expectation" to buy. Of course, after sampling the great products, how could we NOT buy some of the great products. The coffee was so, so good. Also, a neat tour personal tour of the plantation is available on an ATV for only 5.00 per person.
