We chose this restaurant for 2 reasons
1) Recommendation from Bar 200
2) Other trip advisor reviews
Busy place with waitresses that literally run from table to kitchen. Very efficient hard working staff.
We ordered the garlic fish which comes in a remarkable sauce that includes fresh ginger as well. Absolutely to die for! We also ordered the squid which sadly we found bland and over cooked.
Chatted with an American couple that had just had the hot pot and they raved about it too. I had read you need to order the hot pot in advance but this couple said it was no problem.
On our second visit my husband ordered the same fish and I decided to try the red snapper in sweet and sour sauce. In hindsight I would prefer the garlic fish or a hot pot instead. Found the sweet and sour rather too sweet.
Restaurant also accepted credit card with no additional fee.

Delicious sea food! A little confused by the set up - no carbs available besides rice which we had to keep asking for (apparently not served with rice originally?) but the fish was sublime. Highly recommend the sweet and sour squid and garlic and chilli prawns (150K per dish). Service was a little slow but we were in no rush.

Ate here several times over a week on Con Dao, simply because it was by far the best we experienced. As foodies, we really appreciate great, local food, in local settings. This is a restaurant for locals (although there are menus in English). Lots of friendly locals / families, all eager to help us if we ran into any minor difficulties. Our favourites - the mango snail salad - to die for - and was so large we asked for some of it to be packaged up as take away - and it was even better next day as flavours developed overnight. Seafood fried rice was fabulous, as was stuffed squid w garlic and greens. Only expensive dish we got caught out on was the whole steamed fish - but it was enough to feed 4-6 pax (was only two of us) - it's 900K VND p/kilo, so a 800g fish for two was a luxury! However we had a whole crab the prev night, and it was only 200K VND for a great feed, plenty of delicious sweet white meat. Great service, staff spoke English, Chef was great. Can also buy fire water (ginseng wine) here, as well as local beer in cans (20K each).

Came for a snack but ended up just ordering drinks...trash bin full of empty cans in the Seating area, because of this many bees were chasing us around. Also trash on the floor.
When I wanted to pay I had to go to the owners as no one was around. They didn't even bother to stop playing cards...

our coffee shop is near the local market, the street with alot of trees,it's far from the beach only 5 minutes by foot.We have three different outlets with three different felling: ancient space, mordern space.. We're sure that if you come here, you'll fell relaxing with our acoustic music and enjoys our special cocktails, fresh fruit juices,Vietnamese coffee,milkshakes,smoothies.....
Cool funky cafe for coffee, cocktails and hopefully food soon (when the get their license approved). Staff speak English and are super friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced for Con Dao. I'll definitely be back next time I visit.

Great Freindly Coffee shop In Con Dao, with great cocktails, juieces, smoothies, ice cream, pizza, sandwiched, burgers & dessert
This cafe has the potential to be great: a nice atmosphere and great food however, I feel it doesn’t warrant anymore than a 3 Star.
As mentioned the food here was great and the space is cool, hip and chilled but what this place lacks is value for money and customer service.
We went when it was quite after lunch before dinner and the place was near empty yet we had to wait 90 minutes for a salad - as mentioned the place was near empty so it’s not as if they were busy.
The portion sizes are minuscule and don’t justify the price tag. Although the price isn’t over the top but for what you are served it is expensive for Vietnam’s and the Con Dao Islands benchmark.
Apart from these two points if it priced more competitively and really pushed their customer service I would have given this place a 5* (1* of for each point, which is fair).
If you have time to burn the long wait may not be an issue and it would be a nice place to relax and as mentioned it is a very cool space!

Bar200 is located in the heart of Con Dao, just near the main market place. It is the home of Con Dao Dive Center. It is a place to chill, eat, drink and watch the world go by! Breakfasts, pizza, Italian coffee, salads, beers, tourist info - and more!

Restaurant is open from 10 am to 2 pm and then 5 pm to 9pm. Closed on Sunday.
As per other reviews we sourced out this location not just for food but also advice. Owned by a South African man and his Vietnamese wife it is a clean well run operation serving fresh Western food made in house. They also operate a dive/snorkelling...MoreThank you for your great review .So pleased you enjoyed our burgers that are 100% Australian wagyu beef patties with home made burger buns and home made tomato chutney.Pizza dough is made every morning for that day so freshness is guaranteed.

Two streets down from Dive! Dive! Dive! and next to a billiard hall, this restaurant does a bustling trade with many locals, some of whom spend their evenings there with friends drinking and singing. Has absolutely delicious food: seafood, beef, pork, seafood and vegetarian options (try the sand lobster or crispy fried squid!). They have a limited English menu but between the staff, guests and pointing you can usually get something really delicious. Don't stop on the island without visiting this place!

Villa Maison is a recently refurbished colonial building that has been rejuvenated with care and attention. The main entrance and dining room is very aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and clean, although not quite as big as we hoped. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious, with enough choice to please. All food we ate here was excellent, and the restaurant is very popular with other holidaymakers staying elsewhere. I would say this is the best restaurant on the island and the hotel is outstanding too. They will arrange pick up at the airport and drop off, either local bus which you pay yourself (£1.60 each) or taxi (£8). We chose the local bus which was absolutely fine. It is in high demand so book a room if you can, you won’t be disappointed.
