Came here with a friend following a recommendation from the staff (we work at the pub down the road) and we couldn't have been more impressed! The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely amazing! We both had the lamb for our mains and it was cooked to perfection!
It was the first time we'd been here even though we are local but we will definitely be coming back in the future - Thank you :)

Sample delicious heritage cooking and classic English favourites such as homemade scotch eggs, game pies and British cheese ploughman’s. We are extremely proud of the food we serve. We source local and organic ingredients, as well as vegetables and herbs from our own Kitchen Garden, combine with hand pulled local ales to provide the cosy country pub that Monty’s has become renowned for. Monty's Inn is a great spot for Sunday lunch after a long stroll along the Beaulieu River. Tuck into Hampshire Top-Side of Beef with duck fat roast potatoes, confit parsnips, buttered carrots, seasonal greens, Yorkshire pudding and beef gravy. We also offer an extensive children's menu and complimentary treats for your four-legged friends - dosg are more than welcome in the bar.
Having had a great morning at the Motor Museum, I parked up in the village and went in search of lunch. I was greeted and shown a table, only one other table was occupied at this point. I was offered water for the table and then somebody came and took my order. A few minutes later he returned to inform me that food would be at least 30 minutes due to a buffet taking place across the way. Now surely when I arrived all of the staff knew there was a large buffet in progress, particularly given I had a window seat and there certainly wasn't a sudden onslaught of people in the other part of the building! Why on earth didn't somebody tell me this prior to taking me to a seat? It was already nearly 1pm and I had had an early breakfast so I had to go somewhere else for some lunch. I won't be back during my week's stay that's for sure. Quite clearly my face didn't fit! I felt as though I had arrived at Fawlty Towers quite frankly.

We stopped off here as we fancied fish and chips tonight to take back to the cottage we were staying in. The food is very good. The batter was nice and crisp and the chips tasted really good. We all enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly too.

Which is why The Terrace restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience in the New Forest. Head chef Matthew Tomkinson is only 34 Roux scholars in the world an creates a seasonal, award-winning menu capturing a delicious and exciting range of flavours, textures and aromas; food you will definitely want to linger over. His commitment to the perfect dining experience drives everything he does. No fan of passing fads: “Every ingredient has to deserve its place on the plate”, he maintains a personal relationship with suppliers and understands the amount of passion and effort that goes into creating quality ingredients. His goal is always to source fresh, local and seasonal produce from trusted regional suppliers, such as Owls Barn Farm meat, Lyburn Farm cheese, Clayton Eggs, Merry Orchard Mushrooms and flour ground by the Eling Tide Mill. “The New Forest is my larder,” he says.
We visited The Terrace restaurant at the Montagu arms on a quiet Friday night in January. We were met with menus and sat by the log fire to make our choice. We couldn’t help ourselves and chose the 7 course tasting menu with a flight of classic wines. I hope the restaurant has it’s Michelin Star returned because they undoubtedly deserve it. Each course tasted incredible. The accompanying wine choice was eclectic but enhanced the flavour of the food. All in all the service, ambience and food were all so far beyond my expectations that I can only suggest you try it for yourselves.

The Silver Hind is a friendly Restaurant and Village Inn set in the centre of the New Forest Village of Sway. We welcome all the family including dogs and horses! Our Chefs are passionate about sourcing seasonal produce from the New Forest area including local fish, seafood and game. We are proud that everything is made by our Chefs including our complimentary bread which is freshly baked every day. We have daily specials and lunchtime light bites and our Sunday Lunch changes every week but always features locally sourced aged Sirloin of Beef and Rack of Pork with Crispy Crackling. We carry a range of real ales and have a carefully chosen wine list which is sensibly priced with a good selection of wines by the glass. We are open for Lunch and Dinner Monday to Saturday and Lunch on Sundays. Our bar is open every day from 11 am to 11 pm
We used to visit this pub quite a lot, so found the sudden change from above average food to very ordinary 'pub grub' extremely disappointing. The pate starter was ok, but my linguine dish appeared to have none of the reputed smoked salmon and only a few rubbery prawns. While my other half's lamb burger was at best, uninspiring. I also felt cold and wasn't much cheered by a near empty pub on a Friday evening.

Throughout the remainder of the day Rosie Lea will be serving up light lunches, full sumptuous afternoon teas and a variety of cakes and baked goodies, and of course it wouldn’t be Rosie Lea if they didn’t serve you on their beautiful vintage China!
We decided to visit here based on its reviews - suffice to say we were not disappointed! The waitress was very friendly and helpful in dealing with our requests. My tuna and cheese melt hit the spot! My only criticism was the smell of cleaning product when we first walked in - not overpowering but noticeable. This could of course have just been bad timing if all the tables had just been cleaned!

Has a Sunday lunch after someone had recommended. Always good to book as they are very busy. We both had roasts and were not disappointed. I had Turkey and it was a good portion with lots of lovely fresh vegetables. This is definitely one we will be returning to.

Authentic Thai Cuisine in the heart of the New Forest. Modern, contemporary décor and friendly service. Good selection of wines, lagers, spirits and soft drinks. Tapas set menu for lunch. Evening al la carte menu or set menus. Family friendly.
Excellent Thai food. Good portions. Fresh, hot , delicious food - although the restaurant was busy, the service was attentive and food arrived in quick time.
I complained of the draught beer not being cold and returned it- so it was duly taken off the bill.
Red curry, green curry, pad thai, chicken satay all were excellent. Not to be missed if you are in the area. Highly recommended.
