Although we've been to Monaghan twice in the last three years we never considered visiting the museum until this time around. Very glad we finally took the time! The displays were exceptional/captivating very informative for those interested in Irish history. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.

Went today with the kids to the Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre, they had a fab time, as it was something new they weren't that sure what they were doing but the instruction was great and they had a great time, talked about it all the way home!
We were staying in a local hotel and they had recommended them as an activity for young and old, great recommendation, booking was handy to.

Brought my boyfriend here as part of his birthday present and we both had such a good time. It was €25 per person, lasted an hour and a half and included a tutorial, making and decorating our 'masterpieces'. Brenda was such a good teacher and enforces positive thinking in her workshop! Such a good activity and would definitely do it again!

Went on a 2 hour+ guided canoe tour of the Blackwater river. As we are beginners, Tony and Fiona gave us an excellent introduction to canoeing. Tony is clearly an experienced guide and the whole experience, from booking to completion was very positive. We plan to go canoeing again based on this first outing.

St. Peter's Tin Church Laragh village is literally built on a rock, in a beautiful woodland setting among the ferns and ivy. Constructed of tin, it is one of a kind and unique on the island for its Swiss Gothic architecture, quirky design and carefully considered features. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the picturesque village of Laragh in Co. Monaghan. Take a walk along the reinstated Mill Race, stand on the site of the once famous Laragh Woolen and Tweed Mill or just sit back and take it all in whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of the River Owenagh as it winds its way through Laragh Village day by day.
I discovered this church last year after it was re-opened following a community based restoration project.
Nicknamed the 'iron church', St. Peter's is a tin tabernacle church clad in corrugated iron and finished inside with timber. The stained glass windows were painstakingly restored, making this church a must see. It was consecrated as a Church of Ireland church on the13th August 1891 and deconsecrated in 1962.
The church is situated in the former industrial mill town of Laragh, Co.Monaghan between the towns of Carrickmacross and Castleblayney.
It is open to the public on Sunday's and Bank Holiday Monday's 12-6pm. There is no entry fee but donations are gladly accepted. There are tea making facilities. (A great place to visit on a rainy Sunday afternoon).

The center opened in September 2006 and is Managed by Coral Leisure. Our center includes a large fully equipped gymnasium with two fitness studios. We also have a 6 lane Olympic sized swimming pool with a leisure suite including a sauna, spa pool 7 steam room. If you prefer outdoors, we have two full sized flood lit tennis courts. Our facilities cater for all ages and is fully wheelchair accessable
I don't understand how people are saying this is a clean pool as the last time I went it was filthy, especially the changing rooms and the toilets. Myself and my sister only stayed about 15 minutes and had to leave. I was pregnant at the time and had about 10 kids jumping in on top of us and swimming infront of us it was like a zoo! Only reason I went is because I cancelled my gym membership with a different pool in the town while I was pregnant and needed to exercise. Also you need to bring your own lock for the lockers or else buy one at reception! I've never seen this before in my life. Won't be returning.
