Maidstone is a large, historically important town in Kent, England, of which it is the county town. The River Medway runs through the centre of the town, linking it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river carried much of the town's trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of settlement in the area dating back before the Stone Age. The town, part of the borough of Maidstone, had a population of 107,627 people in 2011. There has been a shift in the town's economy since the Second World War away from heavy industry towards light industry and services.

I am visiting my Aunt and Uncle who are long time residents of Bearsted and regulars at this restaurant. My first time here for lunch this afternoon.
Just one vacant car parking space behind the two restaurants (Fish On the Green and Oak on the Green) which are adjacent to each other and overlooking Bearsted Green.
We had a prior reservation for three persons for 2 pm and were promptly ushered to our table close to the main entrance which was not ideal on a cold and rainy winter afternoon.
They offer an A La Carte menu as well as two course or three course Lunch Menus with the emphasis on sea food as expected ....
Fresh bread with olives and pickled gherkins is brought to the table while one peruses the menu.
All of us decided on a two course lunch menu. My Aunt had the Crispy Smoked Haddock fish cakes for a starter and The Roast Fillet of Hake for her mains. My Uncle had the same starter and The Grilled Fillet of Red Gurnard for his mains. I opted for the Soup of The Day for my starter and The Pan Fried Fillet of Bream for my mains. All mains came with a selection of sides and the general consensus was that our meal was really satisfying. I would however point out that we had a long wait for our mains.
We passed on wine and desserts although I tried a bottle of “Curious Brew” which is a lager - my first time trying this beer.
Service was generally efficient and courteous. The restaurant was almost packed out.

Visited with family of varied ages. Staff were great so helpful and friendly, the food was lovely. Parking is a bit of a pain but the staff will help if needed.
This is a real traditional old pub in a small village with nice home cooked food.

The very first Nepalese restaurant to be opened in the heart of Maidstone. We provide beautiful, tasty, amazing and authentic Nepalese cuisine alongside some Indian dishes. Since the opening year 2010, we have been able to serve and share our lovely cuisine and have been able to make permanent place in our lovely customer's heart who comes back asking for more. Very near to Maidstone east train station and within the town centre. Please do come and try our lovely food and we promise not to disappoint you. Namaste.
This is a lovely little restaurant- and when I say little, it is quite small inside so I do recommend to book in advance to secure a table. Due to its compactness, the tables are a little too close together for really private conversation, but let's be honest here you don't really go to this type of restaurant for the peace and tranquility do you?
They offer a seperate takeaway menu and they also now offer Delivery which is a bonus
The food is excellent, with some pretty unique dishes. Iyou like a really hot curry then try the Aakbarae Chicken - I like hot curries, but this dish is one of the hottest I've tried. Give it a go!
Polite service, and very efficient.
I like this restaurant, and I think with it being small and compact it actually adds to its charm and appeal- just remember to book first!

Hen night for 10 on Friday 9th March, cabaret. Fantastic from start to finish. Sineal was great and dealt with all my enquiries from food, drinks packages and the decorating service, which I would highly recommend. The staff were all very efficient and friendly especially our waiter Vasi, he did a great job! The food was lovely, Madame MU MU is the best entertainer, from the singing to dancing all night with us on the dance floor. A night to remember and we are all definitely going back. Great place

Traditional Southern Italian Restaurant offering authentic Italian food, with specifically sourced Italian ingredients.Pasta, pizza, seafood, meat (including veal and our famous meatballs), desserts and coffee all available to eat in or take away. Our food is cooked fresh and express, so do take it into considerations when yo are 1 of 70-80 guests trying to eat on a Saturday night.
This is a nice little Italian restaurant on the South edge of the town centre. No parking outside so you'll have to walk a few minutes to get to the restaurant. Inside, the décor is bright and clean with lots of Italian pictures on the walls, and the tables are nicely spaced out so that you never feel cramped. The staff are all very friendly, attentive and polite. The food is really good authentic Italian, well presented and very tasty. We were are group of nearly 20 people on a busy Friday evening, and the staff did a good job of serving up each course promptly. Dinner was finished off nicely with a complimentary Limoncello. Altogether very good.

Small independent cafe-bistro serving provincial French "peasant food" - This is not fine dining! Its loud, noisy and rustic.
Whilst visiting Maidstone we decided, at short notice, to go into the centre of Maidstone. Someone had recommended Frederic's and we were not disappointed in any way. We never booked and the place was busy but the waiter quickly found us a table for the 5 of us. The service was brilliant, it was very friendly and efficient. We ordered wine and 5 lunch time meals. After a little, but understandable wait, the wine arrived then the food. The white wine was chilled and the red wine was perfect. The food was good, hot and very well presented. With 2 bottles of decent wine, 5 good quality meals and then coffees, the total bill was around £85. It was very good value and we will defiantly go again next time we are here. Well worth a visit.

Heart of flavour is a bright and airy café-cum-deli which opened at the end of last year and has rocketed in popularity, since extending its opening hours. Due to all proceeds going to The Heart Of Kent Hospice, which provides exceptional level of end of life care for patients and their families, our care is local and free and is offered to those who need it. Capturing the essence of the Garden of England, Heart of Flavour is a one stop shop which offers a selection of fabulous cheeses, oil and olives and taste-tingling salads to eat in or takeaway. The keenly priced coffees at Heart of Flavour offer a veritable wakeup call to town centre workers who can pop in before work for a quick caffeine boost and breakfast, but we can now also wind down with a glass of wine at the end of the day. In between, Heart of Flavour attracts shoppers, businessmen and women, ladies who lunch and those who just want to chill out or rest those weary feet with a nice cappuccino or home-baked cream tea and browse the local paper or glossy magazine. Perfect for sharing with friends are the ever-popular platters, originally introduced for the evenings but now available most days. All made in-house or sourced from Kentish suppliers, the Greek platter is a firm favourite with customers, with its ample portions of houmous, taramasalata, olives and feta cheese, beautifully presented in China cups on a serving board and accompanied with lightly toasted pitta bread pieces. You can purchase wine by the glass or bottle. It's a decent list ranging from a very palatable Australian Chardonnay at £14.95 to a classy Chablis or Fleurie at the upper end of £24.95. It's possible to eat at Heart of Flavour, situated in King Street, Maidstone, anytime from 8am to 4pm - and upto 11pm if you are fortunate enough to be invited to one of the many corporate events or family parties which take place in the magnificent first floor function room, which is available for hire. We are non profit organisation working for the Heart of Kent Hospice, 100% of our profit goes towards providing car , comfort, compassion and hope those whom need it. our café is 90% run by volunteers working extremely hard to reach our goal and help as much as we can. From our recently refurbished kitchen we are offer hot and cold bistro food including daily specials and the classics. Popped in for coffee and lunch which was hot and well presented. Always friendly table service, but bit of wait to order. They do need another till open and for a bit more training for the lovely volunteers. Very relaxed atmosphere and comfortable café.

This restaurant serves good size portions of home cooked style food. My prawn saganaki was delicious, as was my lamb chops. We also had beef stiffado, fresh mussells and baked sea bass followed by delicious apple pie and Greek yoghurt with honey and nuts.

My partner booked a table for 2.30, we arrived around 10 minutes early, ordered a drink in the bar and were asked if we had a reservation for lunch, he then added the drinks to our tab which was exactly what we wanted.
Our waitresses were lovely and friendly, we ordered starters which were lovely.
I ordered the beef and my partner ordered Pork with crackling - we had a gorgeous side order of cauliflower cheese - yummy!!
we shared a desert (we really didn't need one but couldn't resist).
The atmosphere here was busy and warm and friendly.
Cannot wait for my next visit!!
One tip - make sure you are hungry the portions are very satisfying !!
