Melanie and Denis Schmidt, as Swiss/Alsatian, couple opened this restaurant four months ago. They have things very well honed, and leMurenberg is definitely worth visiting. The food was outstanding on the slow August evening we visited, the service friendly and the wines personal, coming in some cases (Riesling and Muscat) from M Schmidt's cousin's vineyard. The two of us had the three-course menu surprise, consisting of an excellent fish carpaccio first course and a main course tailored to our individual desires (fish/meat) and an imaginative fruit dominated mille feulle dessert. It is unusual to get bavette (skirt) in Switzerland, and this would make any French chef proud, as would the amuse bouche, which so often just a formality. Ullli10’s Tripadvisor’s review of 28 May is spot on. The total bill of CHF 200 meant that the quality/cost ratio was good. This couple deserves to succeed.

'VISIONI ED ESPERIENZE' The restaurant Osteria TRE is on a successful path. The GaultMillau judged the innovative gourmet experience of the Executive Chef Flavio Fermi with 16 points. GaultMillau Guide Switzerland comments the top ranking as follows: 'Flavio Fermi has been successful with discernment and his experienced hand to increasingly reinvent his cuisine. He is becoming more and more a master of his art which has earned him 16 points. Hard work, lots of creativity combined with his well-rehearsed and professional team helped him to achieve this distinction.' The Osteria TRE with Flavio Fermi offers a modern, Southern European cuisine with an Italian flair of sophistication. Using fresh and local products daily he provides subtle compositions with finesse. Buon divertimento!
We celebrated this year’s business Christmas dinner at the Osteria Tre.
The restaurant is about 25 minutes SE of Basel and easy to reach by car, though parking space is rare sometimes. Access with public transport is feasible however cumbersome.
There is a bar where we could have our apéros until the table was ready.
The restaurant was very full on a Tuesday night, everybody gathering for business Christmas dinners.
We had a 4 course special dinner menu by the Chef, which was really, really good. The service was very attentive and very nice as well. The menu came with a professional wine selection and some explanation.
Though this is not a cheap place to eat I really enjoyed being here.

Exclusively à la carte dishes are served in an elegant atmosphere. An extensive wine list is available for the guest's appreciation.
We have eaten at Bad Bubendorf twice now and found the restaurant to be very appealing to the eye but disappointing to the palette. Based on Kantonsstrasse it has a prime position and attracts a large number of diners. The restaurant itself is very attractive, a pleasing contrast of old and new, blended together in the summer with ample outside Seating in a lush green setting and a wintergarten that is very light and airy for the cooler seasons.
We have visited the restaurant on two occasions and whilst service has been great, the overall impression was that the food was disappointing. Our impression is that some of the plates have two many flavour combinations making the dishes somewhat confused and on the last occasion when I chose Lamb Backli from the regular menu, the meat was served with no colour which made it resemble Veal and the quality of the meat was extremely poor.
No doubt we will try a third visit at sometime in the future but we have eaten better quality at lower prices elsewhere. I get the impression that this restaurant trades on its location.

The Bad Schauenburg is a hotel and restaurant in Liestal. It is surrounded by lush greenery, is a haven of peace and tranquillity and serves haute cuisine par excellence. This venue is within easy reach of Basel but a long way from any motorway or high rise buildings, which means that that you have the luxury of silence. Enjoy total privacy, a wonderful setting and the sumptuous delicacies freshly prepared by the chef who dreams up special business menus day in day out and serves a special Sunday menu which goes down very well with regulars and other visitors. The various dining rooms, the romantic veranda and the beautiful Terrace which you can enjoy in the summer months provide the ideal setting for fine dining and pure relaxation.
I stayed here for a business function for five days and each day we had excellent food for lunch and dinner! Also the breakfast buffet is great, with fresh pastries and fruit. The staff was super friendly. There is no room service though, which for this level of hotel one can expect. But for food, definitely go here. Try the chocolate mousse if you have the chance.

To start, it's been about 2-3 months since my last visit when I had a reunion with some guys from college. The food was actually okay but the service and attitude of the waiter was really something else. He barely paid attention to the group and if he did he brought exactly one drink to one person, not asking if anyone else needed anything. All of us were very disappointed as it wasn't our first visit and we wanted to give it another chance. If you're a party of 2-4 people I'm sure it's different as they all seemed looked after but the larger groups were mostly ignored.

We started with the Sala Thai Royal, a selection of dishes including spring rolls, tempura prawns, prawn crackers, meat patties, chicken satay and cauliflower pakoras. A well-balanced selection, nicely cooked and very tasty. We followed this with the crispy duck with ginger sauce, obviously a signature dish of the restaurant as probably as many as half of the guests were ordering the same; it was excellent and the portion was large. The service was extremely friendly and helpful, all Thai, but slow and not very efficient. I was drinking beer, and I had to order each glass twice before they finally arrived. I can accept the long gaps between courses, as the food is cooked fresh, but the long wait to order and the wait for the bill can't be excused in the same way. The restaurant is small and it was busy, but as this is apparently always the case it's time they added more staff. So, a strong recommendation for the food, but only if you have time on your hands. The price was close to the upper limit of what one would expect to pay for Thai food in Switzerland, but so was the quality.

This Liestal Restuarant Neuhaus is a favorite of my friends (whom I was visiting) and I can certainly see why.
The service was wonderful and even made helpful suggestions to assist in choosing of our entrees. We enjoyed spring rolls to start and had a nice variety of entrees. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken & cashew dish and had it with a lovely fried rice. Others enjoyed a noodle dish, a spicy chicken favorite, and a sweet & sour pork dish. All were delicious and well presented.
I highly recommend. I know my friends, who live in Liestal, go there quite a bit. I am happy they introduced me to it.

Atmosphere all right, could be a little bit more discreet, one can hear people talk too easily.. It is a restaurant that can be reached within five minutes from the trainstation. Nice.
