A nice options for fast food in Fagernes. The kebab bread is really good. Situated in the centrum of Fagernes. They have a big meny with all kinds og dishes. Meat, Pizza,kebabs etc. Pizzas are good ( italian style) and my favourite is the kebab.

Now I am a NY'er, so my pizza review counts.
I a country that isn't known for their pizza, or rather that is known for their chain Pepe's Pizza, this place is a gem.
We came in late one night to eat with our 2 & 4 yr old. They have an awesome indoor area for young kids to play. This is so nice when dining with kids! We could have peace while waiting for our food. This probably comes from the fact that the owner has 2 kids himself. At least I think he was the owner, if not, that is even better as the staff was great.
We ordered pizza, which after a long drive was all the kids wanted. It was such a pleasant surprise to see it come out looking like a NY style pizza. The crust is what defines a NY pizza (in my opinion), and his crust was spot on. From the perfect thinness, so the hand crafted crust, to the blackened bubbles from the oven, I was just like being home. Sauces vary, even in NY, his was close.
Upon talking more to him, we found out he worked for a large pizza chain (see above) for 8 years. Which he didn't pick up their style thankfully!! Peppe's pizza is like dominos or Pizza Hut. Aroma is like NY.
So he's been making pizza for 8 years and you can tell. I wish we had stayed longer and tried some of the other food.
At the end of ten meal we spoke to a couple of the guys there at length (one who's english was superb!). Everyone there was so nice.
They even gave our kids take away ice cream, and gave us real spoons since they had no plastic. Just asked that we bring them back the next day since we were staying at the hotel next door. Seriously, who does that? It was just so nice.
Go to this place. Get the pizza. Enjoy.

This is a great place for lunch or early dinner. The hamburgers are yummy, the other meat dishes are tasty, good portions. There is a vegetarian burger option.
The other dining options n Fagernes, except for the hotels, are limited to kebab-pizza-burger joints. The food at Munkekroen is most definitely a cut above the burger joints.

We'll start to develop Catering business, and we want to make an offer at the cafe and restarant market, where we have so far as possible make use of local produce on the menu, and use the old cooking methods that belong to the Norwegian kitchen. Hjordis Digernes has 35 ar`s experience in the industry, Western Norwegian with great optimism and arrived Fagernes right before Olympic 1994 to Fagernes Hotel. Later Valdres Alpine and further to Danebu KongsGaard as CEO since 2003 (one small living Sanderstolen as hotel manager in the same period as Danebu lay down for bankruptcy in 2008) Craft certificate was presented at Sunnfjord Hotel Forde in 1984. We had thai food. Well prepared, nice staff and good service. They offer simple but tasty thai dishes and no prefab stuff that is quite common in rural Norway.

Great place for tasty mediterranean style food, freshly prepared . Excellent beer from tap. It is ideal when staying at the Thon Hotel next door, whose food we did not like at all.

På festival i Valdres for første gang, kom hit om kvelden så vi er lite kjent, men mat måtte vi ha. Det ble asiatisk i kveld, maten og serveringen var det ingenting å si på. Vi bestilte fire forskjellige retter å alle var fornøyd med maten. Siden jeg ikke gir mer enn tre prikker så er det på grunn av interiøret her har de litt å gå på. Røykere her er det fin røyke plass rett på utsiden av døra.

Dj er god på flyt i mixinga, men kjøre meg, Marcus og Martinus og cc for og komme inn på Fagernes. Seriøst?!??
