Restaurant Tato

Here we are, in front of the ocean in a super simple and authentic restaurant. I like this place Ceviche is simply wonderful and Tacu Tacu is even better. Broad choice of fish and mariscos, all very fresh and cooked with a lot of care. Sumptuous portions, authentic flavours and quality ingredients.
A perfect place for a very good lunch with traditional Peruvian food in authentic atmosphere. Super value for money.
I would definitely suggest to take a break and eat here.

Las Gaviotas

Reviewed By rodrigt - Boston, Massachusetts

My wife and I were on a cruise-ship port-stop in Lima and feel fortunate that after a tour of the amazing nearby Caral Ruins we stopped at Las Gaviotas for lunch. What a treat to be right across the street from a magnificent view of the rolling surf.
While in Peru we enjoyed many seafood restaurants and Las Gaviotas is right among the best ever, they really know how to cook fish to perfection! The efficiency and friendliness of the staff are first class.
New to us were their delicious "canchita " snacks made from a special variety of corn. Also, their Cuzqueña beer was delicious.
PS- If you are in that area we recommend visiting the Caral Ruins, the pyramids there predate the Egyptians.

Chifa Restaurant Central

Jota Restobar

Words can't really express just how good this food is...
The chef (Fernando) really does know his stuff and delivers 5 star food that is very reasonably priced.
We have been travelling South America for 8 months and our breakfast and lunch (yes we stayed that long) was the best we have had so far!
They are also extremely friendly people and made us feel very welcome. The fact our kids got on so well with theirs made the day even more enjoyable.
We really can't rate this place highly enough. Wonderful!

Reviewed By Wayne C - Portland, Oregon, United States

Nestled in a little community by the river Pativilca in an area that has seen a big shift of fortunes with the bypass of the Pan-American Highway, is some of the best fresh water shellfish you'll get anywhere.
Having been told that we must stop on our drive to Huaraz to eat the best chupe de camerones in the "world" - we stopped and has the second best chupe I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of crawfish bisque). It wa delicious and the restaurant offers the rustic ambiance that very few tourists can still find in Peru.
Do yourself a favor, if you happen along the northern stretch of the Pan-American Highway, stop at La Casa de los Camerones . . . It's totally worth the visit!
