The place is very nice. A real enjuyable afternoon.
Trains are great!
Animals are fun.
Beautiful surroundings.
Great flowers.
My beef, the cost. I thought at $8 a head it is way overpriced. I think $10 per car would bring them lots more people.
I'm from Chicago. Morton arboretum and the Botanic Gardens are much nicer and I think both free?
We, as a group kept going 3? 4? all afternoon. I could not get over the price, sorry. It is a lovely place and no matter what your age you will have a nice afternoon.

Chapel of the Resurrection

If you enjoy art, you will love this chapel. It's right across from the Brauer Art Museum and you can do both in less than an hour. Beautiful architecture. I think I heard it's the largest Chapel on a campus in the United States. It's way bigger than an ordinary church. Pick up s brochure in the lobby which explains the stained glass. It is free. There's only a charge for some specific concerts here. Open to the public daily. Short prayer service like 10-11 am weekdays.

This opera house will be celebrating its 125th anniversary this year! Walking inside reminded me of an old time movie theater- balconies, stage, curtains and lots of charm!
The local volunteer talent produce great plays, musicals and fun for fans of the theater. Their recent production of Grease was amazing! If you are looking for a fun activity or a chance to expose your children/grandchildren to the theatre, please go to the Memorial Opera House. You'll be pleased you did.

A pleasant summer night, easy parking and a walk through the neighborhood brought us to the door of the Chicago Theater to see the play "Incorruptible" - a brillant production perfectly suited to this hometown theater that far exceeded my expectations. After seeing their recent production I'm convinced this theater group could do just about anything and it would be great! Staging, costumes and set design were very professionally done. The intimate seating of the space enhances the overall experience. You could do no better than plan on attending one of their productions.

After recently moving to Valpo, I learned that there was a Museum just down the road from my house. We went here on a rainy day and overall it was a pleasant surprise just how much history there was in this small town! The displays were beautifully thought out and I am definitely happy to have taken the time to check this place out!

Misbeehavin' Meads

Reviewed By MadDogTraveler - Valparaiso, Indiana

Everywhere you go it's new brewery after new brewery. I am not a beer drinker so this trend is boring me. This Meade place is really cool. It's either beer or wine everywhere. The offerings here are so different. The best part for me is the location. All of my friends love the beer scene. This is located a block from a brewery, and in downtown around tons of restaurants, and the park. So we all get to enjoy an evening on the town together. We walk around from place to place. I really love their cider. I think it's one of the best I have had. The meads are good too. There is one I hated, can't remember the name, but you get a flight with all the ones they make and taste them all.

Four Fathers Brewing LLC

We came from Illinois and thought this brewery in Indiana was in a different time zone than us. We arrived 45 minutes before they opened (we thought we were 15 minutes after opening time) and not only did they serve us but they never even told us they weren't open yet. We didn't find out until later in the day that this part of Indiana is in the same time zone as Illinois. The tasting room is small but has lots of interesting patriotic decorations. The beer is pretty good. We would stop there again if we were in town.

We were told to try out Figure 8 Brewpub. As an out of towner, we try to sample local brewpubs. We had a very good service, the beer was ok, nothing spectacular. My advice is to keep trying to improve your recipes. Next time in town we will return and try again.
