This collection is beyond any small towns desires for beautiful art and culture. What a treasure located in hometown, USA. I love visiting with friends and family when they visit and also just to stop by for special exhibits when flying solo. Renoir, Picasso, Ruebens just to name a few...along with gorgeous architecture and lovely history.

During a 1791 visit, Thomas Jefferson was moved to say, "Lake George is without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw." Not much has changed. Today this 32-mile long, 3-mile wide dazzling lake draws vactioners who come to enjoy a plethora of outdoor endeavors including sailing, swimming, cruising on historic steamboats, hiking and more.
When you put together a fantastic scenic location with a fun festival you get a winter destination from watching the outhouse races to the motorcycle and snomobiles then add in great restaurants and of course some hot chocolate from Stewart’s or dunkin you’ve got a fun filled and economical four weekends of February

Opening weekend, May 13 & 14! The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom has over 135 rides, shows & attractions, including a full outdoor water park. Featuring thrilling rides like Comet and the all-new Extreme Supernova as well as two children's areas - there is something for everyone!
We've visited Great Escape for the first time and were really disappointed. We are roller coaster enthusiasts and found that two of their five coasters were closed both days. The only thing that "salvaged" the trip was the ride crew on the Comet, who seemed to really enjoy their job and allowed us numerous repeat rides due to the low crowd. BTW, the Comet should not be missed - despite being 90 years old, the Comet delivers plenty of airtime without being very rough.
Our first day, we arrived late afternoon and found the park very difficult to navigate due to the combination of fog machines and lack of lighting. Perhaps that works great for the Halloween theme, but we became really frustrated on trying to find specific places.
Overall, I would have to rate this park this park very low - perhaps at the bottom in the theme parks that we have visited. Because of it's past history as Storyland, it does have lost of things for the little ones to do. If we were in the neighborhood, we would stop in try and ride the coasters we missed, but would not make a special trip to visit.

When visiting the Glens Falls/Queensbury area make sure you put Six Flags on you want list. It's a great place to entertain the family at the water park, have something to eat at Johnny Rockets and stay overnight at the parks Hotel. You will not be disappointed.

A 2,030-foot mountain in Lake George that offers trips to the summit in "viewmobile" vans for awesome views.
Nothing finer than a day in the woods getting away from a tourist trap town to hike up the mountain to a 100-year defunct tourist trap. Not much for scenic viewing until you get to the top, but the top is really good. Two hours up and one hour down.

This was actually my second experience at this establishment and you did not disappoint. I look forward to my next visit.

The only place to catch a play in Glens Falls, and they do a good job of it. Seating is nice, not a bad spot in the house, and the variety keeps it interesting. Downtown, so catching dinner before or afterwards is easy, and there's plenty of parking in the evening as well..

The Shirt Factory was built in 1902 for the McMullen-Leavens Company as a shirt factory, the building was expanded in 1910 as production increased. In the 1930's the product line expanded into dress manufacturing. The shirt and dresses produced here were high quality fashion featured on the pages of publications like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Production continued here through 1996 when the factory closed its doors. In 1999 the current owner began a slow process of rehabilitating the building and breaking it up into rentable studio space. Over the years the space has grown and evolved. Visitors will find an eclectic mix of individuals calling the 70 plus studios here home, offering a wide range of goods, services, classes and more. The building is open daily 8am-5pm, individual studios set their own hours/availability, please check our website for studio hours. While here you will notice machines in the halls and dresses and shirts displayed in cases, these are from the original factory that operated here, for which the building is named. The first floor is our "designated retail area" all studios on this floor are open on Thur-Sat from 12pm-5pm, many studios on the other floors are also open at this time, making these ideal days to visit the building! The range offered by tenants is impressive! There is kung fu/martial arts/tai chi, yoga & zumba, loose leaf tea, baked goods, Himalayan salt lamps and Himalayan salt products, pottery, furniture, original artwork in a variety of forms and mediums, acupuncture, massage, vintage goods, a hair salon, yarn and fiber arts...You have to it experience to truly appreciate the variety. For an experience unlike any other, visit the building during an open house, especially the two that occur between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The owner allows the tenants to invite outside vendors in to set up in the halls, it is an amazing opportunity not only to shop local, but to find unique one of a kind gifts for yourself and everyone else on your list! On our website is a full directory with tenant descriptions, hours and contact information, as well as a calendar with upcoming events and classes to help you make the most of your visit!
The Shirt factory is a good place for artists who need studio space and want an opportunity to have it open to the public. That said, it's not the kind of place where a casual visitor could go and count on finding the trip worth their while. Each artist has their own schedule for being open and the layout of the building can be a bit confusing. If you're not going for a specific open house event or to see a specific artist(s) who you know will be open you may find the trip a waste of time.

This is a secondary body of water ...meaning not often considered a tourist venue. Lake access is of course from Lske side homes that are usually rented for the week. It a man made body of water and very scenic. You can swim, fish, paddle or just enjoy the Mountain View’s.

Fort William Henry Museum and Reconstruction is located on the site of the original French and Indian War fort at the south shore of Lake George. Experience how the soldiers fought and died at this wilderness outpost and learn the REAL history behind the surrender and massacre made famous by James Fennimore Cooper's, "Last of the Mohicans". Cannon and musket demonstrations at 10am, 12, 2, 4pm daily. Free admission to active duty military, veterans, police and firefighters with ID. Open May - October.
This fortress is in great shape, pretty well maintained. There are lots of interesting stuff to look at and experience. The boys and guys will love this place. I loved it. The ladies won't be too bored, either. They also have shows and gun demos, which is also fun!
While at Lake George area, this would be considered a must-see.
